The Summer Initiative

The time has finally come, folks. School is back in session and summer break is officially over. Time for villains everywhere to to pick back up on what they work so hard on: being evil.

So for my last villain, I chose Benjamin Linus. Chances are, a lot of you either have no idea who he is or you hate LOST. But for those of you who are enlightened, you can join me in celebrating this guy. He’s actually my favorite villain and he’s sort of what inspired me to start this project.

I guess that’s all the doctor ordered.

Welcome Back

I’ve been working for my school’s newspaper, The Daily Beacon, quite a bit this summer doing layout design, illustration, and comics. We recently put out our 60+ page “Welcome Back” issue and I had the opportunity to do the section illustrations.

Villain’s Family Dinner

For my 13th villain, I picked Count Olaf of the 13 unfortunate events. After a long day’s work of burning down carnivals and hotels, Olaf just wants to enjoy a pleasant dinner with the kids. Look, Sunny prepared a roast all by herself!

Brett Helquist, the illustrator of Lemony Snicket’s genius series, is one of my favorites. This is my shameful attempt at paying homage.

Face Tests

It’s been a hot minute since I’ve exported anything animation. Right now, I’m in the process of working on a short film/animation with my friend, Warren Smythe. The above is a series of rough animation tests to get a sense of how our character moves and talks. The actual film will be without the white frame and will have color (also, no yucky pencil lines). Look for the final thing sometime in the near future!
